T&T vs Yorkshire CLT20 2012 qualifier

Yorkshire joins Auckland to qualify into the CLT20 main contest. They defeated Trinidad and Tobago by six wickets.

Trinidad and Tobago played like shades of West Indies in the final of T20 World Cup 2012. They were very slow at the start. At one time they didn't score for almost 20 balls and lost 3 wickets as well. But they did make a comeback with Bravo and Ramdin scoring most of the runs. Bravo scored good 45 with Ramdin scoring a well made 59 taking the total to 148 for 9 in allotted 20 overs.

The score looked good but Yorkshire had different plans. They too lost couple of wickets at the start but it looked like T&T fell short of good bowlers later in the innings. Rashid played a good innings of 33 but the star was Ballance who scored 64 off 37 balls only and in the process hit 6 sixes. He was declared the man of the match. T&T couldn't repeat what West Indies did in the finals while bowling.

That leaves the two matches for tomorrow inconsequential in terms of CLT20 league matches. Those will be more of pride than anything else.

Here are some images from cricbuzz for the match:

Sidebottom bowled well in the match picking up 3 wickets for Yorks.

Ballance played brilliant innings to see his time through to the main round of CLT20.

There are few matches to be played tomorrow. But its Auckland and Yorkshire who are through to the CLT20 main leagues matches.
