Champions League Twenty20 Qualifying Round Yorks vs Uva

Today two matches were played to qualify for the league matches. The first match of the tournament was played between Yorkshire(English Champion) and Uva Next(Sri Lankan Champion).

Yorkshire won the toss and elected to field. Everybody got a start in Uva  but couldn't make it big. Uva scored 150/7 in 20 overs. The score looked decent.

In reply Yorkshire batsmen started well, but lost quick wickets in between. But a brave innings from David Miller saw them home. Miller was hit badly by a bouncer from Umar Gul and was retired hurt. It looked for a while that that might be the turning point of match. But Miller came to bat later on and hit few boundaries to
win the match for his team.

Below are some images from the match. (Thanks to cricbuzz, cricinfo)

Umar Gul asking Miller if he is ok. Good Sportmanship.

Rashid played good innings for Yorkshire.

Well done Yorkshire. Way to go.

There is still a match to go for Uva Next. Wish them luck for that one.
