Auckland vs Hampshire 2012 CL qualifiers

Auckland is now through to the main Champions League. They played against Hampshire today in their second qualifying match.

Batting first Hampshire couldn't get a good start and managed to score 121/8 in the allotted 20 overs. That included a 65 run innings by Michael Carberry. Azhar Mahmood was the pick of bowlers for Auckland who ended with a match winning figure of 4-0-25-5. And later on while batting he scored a fifty as well. He was declared MOM.

Auckland Started of well and scored 50 runs within first 6 overs. It never seemed that they are under any pressure to chase down that target. Azhar Mahmood scored 31 ball 55 runs which included 4 sixes. That was enough to take his team home. This also meant that Auckland are now through to the main contest.

Below are some moments from the match. Thanks to cricbuzz.

Brilliant All round performance by Azhar.

Azhar Mahmood on his way to 55.

Good Show by Auckland team and they deserve to be in the Champions League starting from Saturday.
